Alicia and Joseph’s Wedding

29th December 2012 – Brookleigh Estate

Finishing off 2012, which was a busy but successful year for the troupe, The Chinese Community Centre (CCC) Lion Dance Troupe performed at the wedding of Alicia and Joseph. The wedding was held at the beautiful Brookleigh estate in Swan Valley.

After Alicia and Joseph were pronounced husband and wife, and they walked down the walk way, the performance began with the 2 lions coming from behind the fountain greeting the newlyweds. The lions gave their blessing to the newlyweds and presented a good luck scroll to the couple.

The CCC Lion Dance Troupe will like to congratulate Alicia and Joseph on their unity together as husband and wife. May your new lives be one filled with everlasting love, success, and fortune.

The Light Up Leederville Festival

8th December 2012 – Leederville

The Chinese Community Centre (CCC) Lion Dance Troupe performed as the closing acts for the Light Up Leederville Festival.

The Festival was a free event in which the Leederville streets were closed off to fill the streets with food, music, fashion, art, and entertainment. There were a variety of activities for the kids which included Basketball Shoot outs, urban art workshops, face painting, and many more

The event started at 1pm and finished at 8pm with the turning on of the very first Leederville street lights.

The main entertainment stage was the Carnival Bus stage, where a double decker bus was parked in the middle of the main Leederville strip. The CCC Lion Dance Troupe was the closing acts of the event, and performed at the main stage. The Lion Dance performance featured 2 lions entertaining the crowd by displaying acrobatic jumps and movements. The kids in the audience very much enjoyed the interactions with the lions. The lion dance performance was also accompanied by fire contortionist, displaying spectacular fire displays.

The event was very successful, with over 20,000 attending the community free event. The CCC Lion Dance Troupe would like to thank Ofa and the rest of the team for having the troupe be part of this event. We hope to be back next year.
