City Garden Restaurant Birthday

12th of September 2016 – City Garden Restaurant

The City Garden Chinese Restaurant is one of the most busy and famous restaurants in Perth’s Chinatown. For years they have opened run their business to the early mornings of the day. On this day the restaurant celebrated its annual birthday. And to celebrate its annual birthday, the Chinese Community Centre Lion Dance performed the lion dance to the restaurant and its customers.

To begin the performance, a long length firecrackers were lit, and after that the lions commenced its performance in front of the doors of the restaurant. Many of the customers were very well into the performance in taking photos with the lions and feeding the lions red packets. The lions blessed the restaurant, presented a scroll to the owners of the restaurant, and threw the green (lettuce) to the owners as a symbol of luck and prosperity.

Another great milestone for this performance was that the new generation of the Chinese Community Centre Lion Dance Troupe performed their first lion dance performance. The new generation had been training hard and extensively for this moment, and this moment they delivered well and above.

Overall the performance was a great success! All of us at the Chinese Community Centre Lion Dance wish the staff at the City Garden Chinese Restaurant Happy Birthday!
