Linda and Paul’s Wedding Tea Ceremony

31st March 2012 – Marangaroo

On the 31st March the CCC Lion Dance Troupe had the pleasure to perform at the wedding tea ceremony of Linda and Paul.

The tea ceremony was in traditional Vietnamese culture where the bridal party was dressed in traditional Vietnamese clothing, and gifts being presented to the brides maids from the groomsmen. After the formalities, the CCC Lion Dance Troupe began their performance where they performed for the guests, blessing the house, and gave good luck to the bride and groom by also presenting them with a good luck scroll.

The CCC Lion Dance Troupe would like to congratulate Linda and Paul on their marriage, and we wish you both the best of luck and fortune in your new lives ahead.

 

Ballajura Harmony Day

25th  March 2012 – Karijini Oval

The CCC Lion Dance Troupe again performed at the annual Ballajura Harmony Day Festival. This years festival was bigger than the last with many new acts that included hip hop dancing and singing, and new free activities such as mini golf, and giant chess.

The CCC Lion Dance Troupe closed the event with their lion dance performance which ended with a loud firecracker display. The CCC Lion Dance Troupe would like to thank all of the organisers of the event for allowing us to be apart of such a wonderful event.

 

Australian Arab Association Harmony Day Celebration

17th March 2012 – Maddington Community Centre

Continuing the Harmony Day celebrations, the CCC Lion Dance Troupe performed at the Harmony Day celebration concert organised by the Australian Arab Association.

The event featured cultural dances such as belly dancing, police march band, and the Chinese lion dance. The was the first time the lion dance has been performed at this event. The lion dance performance started with the lions running into the hall, followed by the instrumental band, to the surprise of the guests.

The audience enjoyed the performance as they gave an encore applause to the troupe after the performance. The CCC Lion Dance troupe would like to thank Salim and everyone at the Australian Arab Association for the great hospitality given to the troupe on the night. We hope to come and perform for you again next year.

 

Aranmore Catholic College Harmony Festival

16th March 2012 – Aranmore Catholic College

As part of the Harmony Day celebrations, Aranmore Catholic College invited the CCC Lion Dance Troupe to perform at their annual Harmony Day festival. For some members of the CCC Lion Dance troupe it was a walk down memory lane as some members are old students of the college.

The event started with introductions from the head boy and head girl of the college which then was followed by the traditional aboriginal dance. After the aboriginal dance, was the lion dance. The performance started with the lions running towards the stage surprising the audience. The performance was very well enjoyed by the whole audience.

The CCC Lion Dance Troupe would like to thank Annette for the opportunity to perform at the event, and we hope to see you all next year.

 

Kulcha Global Beats Festival

10th March 2012 – Liddell Reserve

The CCC Lion Dance troupe performed at the Global Beats Festival, which is a free multicultural festival for the community organised by KULCHA. KULCHA is an organisation in Western Australia that promote and develop multicultural arts and artists in Western Australia.

The CCC Lion Dance Troupe performed at 2 different time slots of the event. Both performances attracted a large crowd at the event. The event also featured other cultural dances and performances.

The event was highly successful as the venue was completely full of people. The CCC Lion Dance Troupe would like to thank KULCHA in allowing us to be apart of this spectacular event.
